Triangles, triangles, triangles (ad lib)

I had the honor of being invited by the prestigious Lunchmeat Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, to create a captivating installation for the highly acclaimed performance of Los Angeles-based 'abstract' hip-hop artist Nosaj Thing. This collaboration presented an exciting opportunity to merge the innovative mapping technique with a dynamic live approach, resulting in a mesmerizing visual experience for the audience.

Inspired by the artist's unique soundscapes and creative vision, I embarked on designing a remarkable structure that would serve as a luminous canvas for the performance. The installation comprised over 500 meticulously crafted modules, meticulously arranged to form a striking architectural ensemble. These modules were strategically positioned to maximize the interplay between light, space, and motion, creating a visually captivating environment that seamlessly interacted with the artist's music.

Throughout the performance, the structure came alive, pulsating with vibrant hues and intricate patterns. The fusion of light and sound created an immersive atmosphere, captivating the senses of the audience and transporting them into an ethereal realm. The dynamic interplay between the live visuals and the artist's musical composition enhanced the overall impact, eliciting profound emotional responses from the spectators.

For an in-depth look into the construction process and the conceptualization behind the installation, a short documentary has been curated, providing valuable insights into the artistic journey. This documentary, available at the bottom of this page, offers a glimpse into the meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design considerations that brought the installation to life.

The collaboration between Lunchmeat Festival, Nosaj Thing, and myself resulted in an unforgettable sensory experience, pushing the boundaries of visual art and live performance. By fusing cutting-edge technology, architectural design, and the artistry of Nosaj Thing, we aimed to create a unique and immersive experience that would leave a lasting impression on the audience.

This installation serves as a testament to the transformative power of art, as it transcends boundaries and transports viewers to new realms of imagination and emotion. It is a testament to the creative synergy that arises from the collaboration between artists and the ability of technology to amplify artistic expression.
